Here, I test-fit the blade again, to check that the notch in the tang lines-up with the first mounting hole, and that the end of the tang is in the centre of the second mounting hole.
Although the handle has a 'single guard' incorporated into it's design, a metal plate over the end of the handle really gives the knife a good finished look. I have a small sheet of brass which I cut a small piece out of, for shaping into a 'guard'.
